Eric Shore: A lifelong pursuit of musical depth and groove

Eric Shore

Bass

Eric plays bass for the Rhythm Rebels. He comes from a musical family and has been playing music for most of his life. His mother was a classical pianist and organist.  Even at a very early age, he was especially drawn to the sound and feel of the bass in the orchestra and in ensembles.

Eric began his formal music studies at the age of 9, with classical training on the clarinet and later on the oboe. He started playing guitar and bass when he was 13 and progressed through the garage and fraternity band scene during high school and college.

Eric has studied bass privately and has attended workshops at the Los Angeles Music Academy and New York Bass Collective. He has also studied classical and fingerstyle guitar, piano, voice, and double bass. Eric is also a prolific music transcriber, with more than 700 pieces completed.

Eric has performed with many groups in the Orange County and Los Angeles area. Besides performing with established groups, he plays regularly with other musicians as an open mic house band member and also teaches privately.

Eric enjoys playing all types of music and especially grooves on classic rock, R&B, Motown, and fusion.

A software developer by profession, Eric is also an avid mountain biker and outdoorsman.
